I'd much rather watch a RV-oriented show that focuses on actual traveling with "how-to" segments than an informercial for some dealer. The old Wish You Were Here show from the 1980s with Kenny and Donna Price was in that vein.

We watch for its entertainment value! Gotta love Bama and the Elvis impersonating black wig guy.

Going RVing is no different than HGTV's House Hunters. The entire concept is very unrealistic. They look at only 3 models of RV or 3 different houses, then eliminate one, and make a choice.

Although entertaining to a degree, it's all very......'non-reality' TV.

CCC--Cargo Carrying Capacity
What you can add to the trailer as your 'stuff' and mostly a way off number. Lots of RVs weigh more than the advertised weight, and always more than the 'dry' weight.

For instance--my '15 Suites has a dry weight of 16400, gross weight of 19000. Weighed it empty, it was 18080. Sticker inside entry door indicates it can carry a max of 2735lbs. Where did it go? They don't account for all the options added during the order?

I watch the shows too and laugh when they talk price and budget. I really enjoy all the YouTube videos from mostly real RV people, but then again the more popular ones do have sponsors.

I live in the middle of "Lizard Lick Towing". Bobby lives behind me and he brother has most of the property line that mates with ours, and we tatk about helping keeping the show on track.

Yes! I used to watch that show too. Kenny Price was great.

Hahaha, the guy on Mountain Monsters sure likes to say S.O.B. !

What's interesting to me, if these guys hunt "monsters" for a living, (and it appears there are many monsters among us), who pays their wages? Let me guess; federally funded right? [emoji1]

I get a kick watching these new RV shows, especially when the new "first time buyers" walk into an RV and immediately become experts. Knowing what will or won't work for them and hearing their explanations of those reasons.

To answer the OP's original question; after 18 years of RVing with 3 different types of RV's and having spent a little over $25,000.00 over the years on maintenance, modifications and upgrades to the RV's, yes, I would do it over again in a heart beat without hesitation.

The only regrets the wife and I've had were usually with places we've stayed or businesses/people we've dealt with. All and all the RV experience has been great. It has allowed us to do things and go places we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. The friends we've made, the people we've met along the way and places we've gone have been awesome; and like a certain commercial says, "priceless."

Why do the producers make these people crawl into the basement all the time as if the viewers are going to find that so thrilling?

Also notice they always and only choose among three choices given to them? The very same thing happens on some of the real estate shows where they are shown all of three houses and they choose one of those three and buy. In both of these series I don't recall the couple ever NOT buying

I have since quit following them as they've went from RV to a large boat. On the show and on their YouTubes, they did present well. So, yea, those shows are more like infomercials.
I've been following the Wynn's on their catamaran. I've learned enough from them to know I don't want a yacht. They're in the Panama area.

I look at them as an opportunity to see a video tour of 9 RVs. Nothing more....
