I can't believe that no one came up with the obvious answer . . .

CUT THE TREE DOWN! Problem solved.

I have nesting birds that take up residence every spring in my RV Carolina Carport. About 3 times a week for a few weeks I send them packing by using a good flow hose and spray nozzle to ruin their house plans.

Depending on your definition of entertainment, how about a Gamo or Beeman? The sound is like clapping hands, cost of ammo is zilch, you or hubby can sit in a lawn chair drinking lemonade and plink as you wish. Dig hole in yard, fill with feathered crappers, cover hole, repeat as needed.

They are now contributing to entertainment instead of creating a mess..or, at least...in addition to. IF birds are like squirrels, they'll soon decide that the sound a pellet gun makes combined with a dropping comrade means that it's time to move on.

A lot of people take CD's and tie fishing line through the center hole and then hang them in the tree. As they turn in the breeze, the reflection off of the chrome surface scares the birds. Get some young kid to climb the tree with a few and see what happens.
