Black tank smell
We have a 2020 Keystone Springdale. We set it up back in October of last year and are living in it full time. My problem is an overwhelming urine smell from the black tank. Because of full time living I dump the black tank about every 4 to 5 days. But the urine smell is still there after flushing and trying different additives. Any ideas to help. Thanks in advance

We use the Happy Camper tank treatment and never have any odors or clogs!

Do you by chance have the Dometic model 300 toilet? The manufacturers label should be on the back right side of the upper tank. If you have a Dematic 300 you probably have the leaky seal which allows urine together between the two halves. Contact a Dometic for possible replacement and or upgrade.

We flush the black tank with every dump if we can and use Happy Camper. Doing this we never deal with odors from the tank.

Whether Dometic or NOT the urine smell is coming from toilet ...urine between shrould/toilet bowl etc
Not coming from black tank as urine would be heavily diluted
Check the toilet area for accumulated urine

In my experience, urine smells from the bathroom stem from the combination of two factors:
1. Too many manufacturers put carpet in the bathrooms; and
2. Males can't seem to aim well. (This one can do it all on its own, even with a hard floor.)
(ETA: I have a small placard in my bathroom that says "please sit!")

X2 Urine splatters travel. Wash the rug, walls and floor, often.

Thanks for the help. I really think the smell is in the wall. Going to check the roof vent and will let y'all know the outcome. Thanks again

Check out this article. Many of us have had this problem and Dometic sent us Replacements. I paid an extra $75 and ordered the 310 with porcelain bowl and self closing residential seat.

If you have pee on the wall then you have an entirely different issue. [emoji12]

Happy Camper and all the other deodorizers do nothing except add to the manufacturer's bottom line. If your toilet and all systems are properly installed there will be no odor. Might be the wall, the floor, a leak some where, but adding a deodorizer will not help.

If it seems like it is coming from the wall it is possible that the vent pipe that goes to the roof has come out of the slip joint on top of the black tank allowing smells to drift up the wall. I really do not think that is your problem though or you would be smelling feces more than urine.
Like the other posts I believe you have splatter from the act of flushing the toilet which can splash into a shelf-like void at the back of the toilet where the two halves meet. Go on Youtube and search for your model of toilet and you can see a video of how to replace the seals.

Don't want to fool with the dealer, i hear stories about the time it takes for warranty work.

Not to get too deep into your 'business', but if you are dumping every 4 to 5 days, full time living doesn't have anything to do with it.
Our old Arctic Fox 24-5N has a 40 Gallon black tank. We would go out for weeks at a time, and once for 9 months. There are just 2 of us. We dumped the black tank about every 2 weeks. We never use an RV park toilet, just our's. The tank was never over filled. We never want a black pyramid.
Back to morning brew . . .

This is true. Perhaps you're dumping too much without it being filled and 'stuff' is building up and not being removed.
