Bowlus RV
I got to finally see and walk into a BOLUS Travel Trailer
What an amazing RV
It weighs only 3200 lbs empty.
Quality inside and out.

Looks sweet, very clean. But could you imagine a sunny day driving down the road and the flash of sun light hitting your eyes from this.

They certainly may appeal to some. I would suspect a lot of people might like them and a lot of people wouldn’t, therefore there would be very few middle of the roaders.

Airstreams and similar are very good trailers but I've never been interested in having one. Just not my taste. The Bowlus mentioned here is even more odd and is one I'd never be interested in no matter what it cost.

Might be quality. But cramped. One axle. Definitely priced for folks with more money than brains.....

The lack of a real RV toilet is a deal breaker. The hallmark of a crappy travel trailer is the "cassette toilet". That means after going poop you need to carry your poop to a location to pour it out. This means even if your campsite has a sewer hookup, you still need to carry your poop to a toilet somewhere to empty it. This is the most expensive travel trailer and at the same time the worst simply because you have to carry your poop. It's like buying a $2 million home with an outhouse and no indoor plumbing. If you want to pay the most for the worst, buy a Bowlus. The cheapest camper I have ever owned had a "cassette toilet". You remove the cassette from the outside and go pour your poop somewhere. Hooking up a sewer hose is so much more sanitary than pouring your urine, feces and toilet paper somewhere on, at least, a daily basis. When you have one of these "cassette toilets" you always try to never use it and walk to the campground's bathroom or outhouse.
This travel trailer has everything I want, except the worst thing any travel trailer could possibly come with. Before spending more than $150,000 to pour your poop somewhere, try pooping in a bucket at home for week. Then, carry it on a walk around the block every day and then empty it in a toilet when you get home. This simulates what it is like to have a cassette toilet in a camper. You can't pour this at a dump station, you have to go to a toilet. The small hole for a sewer line is not for pouring a cassette toilet in to. Plus, where does all the wastewater from your sink go? Not into a tank or what the point of not having a black water tank. If off the grid, where does your sink and showers waste water go? On to the ground? My guess is that is illegal.

It does have a grey holding tank and fresh water tank so it's legal.
It also has pet bowls hidden in a drawer! Well worth the price!!
Here are the specs:

That is, what do you do with your gray water when you are off the grid? I hated having a cassette toilet. Anyone out there who thinks having a cassette toilet is a great feature in a $300,000 camper?
Who has had a cassette toilet and prefers it over being able to hook up a sewer hose to dump the black water tank?
The Bowlus website says: "So, when you pull out the cassette (from the outside of the Bowlus) to empty into any toilet (how incredibly convenient and it is designed for no “splashback when emptying into a toilet” — there is no need for a traditional RV “stinky slinky”)". This begs the question, how does one empty the gray water tank without a sewer hose.
Note: I currently have a T@B 400 which is great being off the grid with an integrated solar system. It has double pane plastic windows and high R value "Azdel™️" panels. The best part is it has no Cassette toilet. Also, it is the only RV / Camper I have ever had that needed no trip back to the dealer to fix stuff directly after purchase.
I would love a Bowlus if it weren't for the Cassette toilet. I'm angry I can't buy one, only because I can't stand the Cassette toilet. There are other RVs that have been spoiled the same way.

So... $300k trailer that is designed for "off grid" and it only has a payload of 750lbs. But it has a big 50 gallon fresh water tank!!!
So with a full fresh water tank (400 lbs) you only have 250 lbs of payload left for food cloths, and anything else. You aren't boondocking long with only 250 lbs for food, cloths, and misc stuff!!

Besides being goofy looking (my opinion of course), it costs way too much for what you get. Its ccc is much too low and as mentioned, the cassette toilet idea stinks (pun intended).
I can imagine the front door leaking at times when traveling in a rainstorm doing 60 mph.

Looks like someone polished a fuel oil tank, put a couple of tiny windows in and wheels underneath. These will sell in the tens!
Tried to find out more about it from their website, but you have to enter your personal data first to see if it’s a “fit”.
Flat strips of aluminum bent? At that price I’d expect press or hydro formed aluminum single pieces for the front and rear caps. Not a fan of shiny lapped siding. Just putting a high price on something doesn’t make it high quality.
