Could make adjustable rip cord alarm shorter than cord or hoses. Stake to ground or weight at elect bay or shorter length of twine to pole ,or a loop in cord pulls it. Short search brought up this.

I have a set of reminders that go on the steering wheel, one for each item like TV, power etc. I don't use the ones for the obvious like slides. The other habit I have gotten into is a walk around after starting the engine which includes checking lights.

Geez, how does one forget something like that?

The same way my FORMER (thank God) inlaws drove their MH for hours with the giant awning still out. Imagine being in rain on the highway and getting under it in the lane beside them and not needing to use the wipers.

Oh, and I walk several laps around before moving anything.

Much easier to make a checklist. It could be slightly more difficult to follow it or remember where it is located.

Finding these most handy. My handwritten one is to switch the step to retract.

If it broke away from pedestal they would still drag it down the road. Best fix is don’t do it.

I always do a final walk around. Always. Even if I'm sure I'm ready to go. This includes a light tug on the bottom of every compartment door, and looking to confirm each jack is up. I also look UP to make sure things like window awnings are in. I never let myself skip the walk around before pulling out even if I'm positive everything is good to go.

Part of this kind of routine comes from being the person who is responsible for locking and securing facilities. I develop a routine and follow it every time. It doesn't matter if everything has been secured earlier in the shift, a final walk around is always done.

We all Bo Bo once in awhile.
I have a full service RV pad at my house.
I needed to turn the coach around to do some work on it.
Yup! I just hopped in and drove into the street.
Receptacle survived. Cord and box it terminates in needed a little work.
I guess that makes me a member of the "Ron White" society. You can't fix........

I have a pre-flight checklist and a "landing" list. Last time out I was feeling so smart that I didn't feel like I needed to check my pre-flight list. But I did anyway and sure enough, not so smart.
I feel dumb checking the lists each and every time but it sure beats feeling really really stupid.

I drove an ice cream truck and was in that business for 47 years unplugging and telling others before you pull out to be sure you unplug.

Guess what? I pulled up and didn’t unplug my RV and now I’m the guy that checks and double checks if I’m unplugged. Lol now.
