Brush rock/guards
Hi
We have just retired and are stsrting to RV on a regular basis. We have used this forum over the years and find it very helpful so We are now joining.
We are planning a trip with an RV caravan to Alaska.
QUESTION: How important is it that we put a Brush rock/guard on the front of our truck for this trip.
Thanks

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.
I have never used a rock guard, and I've been on some bad roads without any dings or chips. There are many people that feel like it is important for their toads. Kind of a personal choice. If you get chips then you'll probably wish you had gotten one.
Happy Trails!!!

Our biggest worry is not chips but our radiator.

So you're hauling the toad on the trailer?

Sounds like its the TV and doesnt need a toad ( vehicle being towed )
Did the alaska trip once and i would say no
Might think about big mud flaps to protect RV from rocks being flung by your truck

No it's a GMC 2500 PICK UP truck that tows the trailer. I trying to decide if its, worth the cost of putting a Brush guard on the front of the truck. [emoji3]

I don't think a brush guard would do any good. They make rock guards that fit on the front of the truck. Sorry I can't advise you on those.

If you are truly concerned about protecting your radiator and the rest of your truck from damage caused by hitting a Moose, Elk, Deer then I would look at replacing your stock bumper with a fully welded steel bumper, not a brush guard.
