Building out slide floor

I need to extend the floor of the slide by about 2”. How would you attach 2x4 (ripped to size) to the square steel tube that makes up the frame of the slide?

3” self tapping lags would do it if I could find them.

I’m trying to move out the recliners (we removed them jackknife sofa and replaced it with RecPro recliners two years ago) out a few inches so they recline farther back. There will be a lot of vertical force on this extension because the front base foot of the the recliner will rest on it.

Looking for advise and sources.

Thank you!

You might try using 3/4” plywood that is large enough to extend from the wall to the 2” you need. You can round the corners and cut back for the area between the two chairs.

I would but some angle iron to use on each side of the recliner. Have I long enough for the front legs o recliner to set on. Screw angle iron to the floor of the slide using carriage bolts up from the bottom. The recliners should be bolted to the angle iron to keep them safely in place

If you extend the wall will the slide still go in all the way?

Problem solved thanks to local industrial hardware store with the right kind of heavy duty screws.

The black is the extension piece with the carpet facia reinstalled. Properly anchored in place of the brads used in manufacturing of the MH.Click image for larger version
