Burr Handi-lift for Class A...please share your wisdom!

Hello all!
We purchased our 2008 Damon Challenger last week, and after exhaustive research have decided that the Burr Handi-lift LT (50 inch) will be the best option for getting one disabled Mama on board. My question is this...
Can the platform be configured to be in its storage position at the bottom of the lift bar when parked? I'm concerned about its position relative to our slide. Please see picture below.
Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you!!

First off, I do not have a lift, but after looking at the instructions it would appear you could stop at (Exiting step 3 on page 6 of attached manual).

After reviewing the manual I would be concerned if I had enough room between the door jamb and the slide to install the lift.

I would call BURR Engineering for a copy of the install instructions.
