Not everyone is looking for tourist attractions, nightlife or even restaurants. Different strokes for different folks. Snowbird parks attract a lot of the same people year after year and there is an active social scene, aka a "community".

The pics I saw on google earth showed them full too. Seemed to be 8-10 feet between coaches though and nothing between them. Like was said - converted pasture land. If people like this setting I'm not one to say anything - choice is everyone's right. I totally understand wanting to get out of the cold - I live in FL full time and have all my life.
My buddy loves being packed into a campground - he's a guy that likes to ride his bike throughout the CG talking to everyone, everyday and he's been doing this for quite a while so I'm sure he knows a lot of the people from previous stays.
As I travel more I am not out for the night life or much for attractions either. We like it quiet but a little more room between sites - maybe with something between them like vegetation. We're not planning on staying put for months on end. Short stays and on to the next adventure/ place to see. As said, to each their own.
