As stated many times: The show IS the dealers. Also, as stated, manufactures due often add additional funds to the dealers to encourage them to show up and to move product. They come in the form of rebates to the dealer (per unit and volume). If you do enough research, you can often find out about the incentives and utilize these to your advantage.

Also, these incentives usually last for at least 30 days to allow dealers to "close the deal" with victims (customers ) they begin a relationship with at the show.

Bottom line: Do not feel pressured to buy at the show. They can always do the same or better price after the show at the dealership - provided the unit is still available. If a dealer says he cannot match the price next week - run away! I have often been approached at shows with prices BELOW the show price.....

The best incentives come on coaches after the new model comes out. You can get at times as much as 40 - 50 percent off MSRP for a leftover unit (depending on manufacturer).

FWIW - DW used to work at a dealership.

If they will sell it at the show for that price they will sell it anytime for that price you just have to be willing to walk away.

If a dealer is getting incentives from the manufacturer then you may not be able to get that same price later on. The key is to do your homework before going to a show or even before going to a dealer. Know what you should be paying. Be an educated consumer and you can save some serious dollars.

Factory incentives run for a specific time. IE. 30,45,or 60 days. Shows are designed to dazzle you with glitz, get you all excited and impose a FALSE TIME PRESSURE. Its simply a sales tactic. Exactly like a salesman telling you "If you don't buy it now I have two couples behind you ready to make an offer. "
A show is however a great place to compare different manufactures models right next to each other.
