On our recent return to ID from AZ we went through the Ca inspection station west of Parker, AZ. Only question asked was did we have any fresh fruits or vegetables? Our response was only what we had bought during the winter in grocery stores in AZ. They wanted to see the Apples, so the inspector and I to the RV refrigerator. She only wanted to LOOK at the little sticker on the Apples, they were "OK". She completely ignored the Grapes, Oranges, Quiwes (sp?), potatoes, carrots, lettuce etc that was obviously also in the refrigerator!
One time years ago when traveling in our car we had some "Illegal fruit", we were told to just move over to the side and EAT them before traveling any farther is the state.

If all the previous posts have not eased your mind let me add this, being in Calif and having gone to and from Vegas 100's of times over a 50 year period, passing through the AG inspection.....we have never been searched and always waved through after a simple question or two about fruit, if that. Have a Great Trip.

entering CA the first weekof Feb this year, the inspector did the usual - then said she noticed our plates/ tags and asked is we'd like a CA Tourist booklet

I thought "this is a great greeting" - nice tourist welcome
