Completely on-board w/ this one. Lived in CA for 10 years and went on many roadtrips around to AZ etc.. Always used to joke that we knew as soon as we crossed into CA because the road turned to crap. Smooth sailing and then bump...bump..bump...oh, yeah, welcome to CA

I will say that as weird as it seems,that run from B'field to Death Valley was a fun trip.. Well,except for stopping for lunch at the rest area in Troana 'cuz I still think that I can smell that place. I did enjoy the info signs about the Searles Lake area that were there as they were VERY detailed.

Oh and in my previous post,it was the 280 freeway from #1 in S.F. south to the 101,not the 210.We were very pleasently surprised at the ease we came across the bridge and ran south on CA 1 to the #280.

I am laughing at you all, the roads here in eastern new mexico are the worst! these are oilfield roads, Over wieght trucks travel them every day! Warning, stay away!

If you remeber the goverment always does a study before they do anything and most of the money is spent there. Just Do It !!!
