We keep our Rv on a permanent site. Several have children who like to run around and toward evening play hide and seek. They will run around all the RV's. Most tenants have nice patios, some 3 season rooms on them, I've seen kids all over others property. If I am up there on site I tell them they are not allowed to play in or around my RV site. They are good kids and very polite and always play elsewhere. Other's don't seem to mind.
You could always rig up a in ground stake hose sprayer with a motion sensor on it. I had a client with one and those really work good. I think that would keep them
away along with free roaming critters at night.

I didn't get that either. Empty - no one camping there, no problem as long as if you're walking your dog you clean up. But humans shouldn't have to be followed with a pooper scooper.

I will say over the years I have had more issues with stray (i.e. off leash) dogs than kids! And you can tell I am a dog lover by my picture (yup - my dog, not my kids)!

Do others get offended by walking through empty sites too? I would never infringe on the personal space of people in their sites, but we do sometimes walk through an empty site. And if my dog does the deed on even an empty space, we clean it up.

I'm genuinely curious... Seriously? This is not ok??

I think the vast majority of people think it's OK to walk through an empty site. We do it and see many others do it all the time. However, walking through my site is not OK.

I would say over the years I've had more trouble with the non-dog end of the leash.

Lol I have to admit I would probably let that slide too.

As for cutting through empty sites that must be some etiquette I'm not aware of. But not sure who I would even apologize too.

Many if not most campgrounds do not want its customers to confront others disobeying the rules in order to to prevent fights, injuries, police reports and retaliation. If you can identify the violators campsite or take their photo with your cell during their tresspass, report the problem to the park ranger or manager and demand they speak to the people and educate them on the rules.
Oh yeah, sprinklers, water cannons, and dogs works as a deterrant.

You could always keep a roll of crime scene tape with you to rope off your site too. Maybe paint a white outline of a body on the ground. Tell the children it was the last person that cut thru. Word will get around.

The OP said: "this group walked through our camp site daily, not on the perimeter, actually under our canopy. Both children and adults did this".

In any case, "trespassing people" are far less annoying than barking "poop machines".... (especially those left for hours in an RV by people who refuse to believe that they barked constantly while unattended).
