Campground Upkeep

Has anyone had any view as of lately about how the economy has affected the upkeep of their favorite campgrounds? I haven't ventured out yet on our spring/summer tour but I was just wondering. What I'm getting at is some places have had low voltage, and water pressure issues but in the past have upgraded and make timely repairs. Any thoughts?

At our favorite coastal RV Park, Pismo Coast Village, they are continuing with upgrades. This started 2 years ago and each year sections were shutdown for upgrade...same thing this year. We are very pleased.

Business is normal

We just returned from a 2500 mile trip ... we stayed in 3 RV parks, 2 state parks, 1 city park.

It seemed to me that they had a pretty normal amount of business ... 2 of the RV Parks were full by the end of the day.

I might add one of the RV parks was at a Casino in Mesquite, NV ... it appeared that one of the casinos itself was closed ... but the RV park was not ... and had about the same number of people as the last time we were there ...

We are full-timers, and over the past year (high gas prices last summer, bad economy this year), we have not noticed any deferred maintenance we could specifically relate to low occupancy rates. In fact, as skigramp says, most of the campgrounds are full by the end of the day.

We asked in the office of a couple of campgrounds if they were getting a lot of cancellations. They said they had a few more than normal, but they almost always seemed to get last minute replacements to fill the spots.
