To each his own....WM for a quick over-night pit stop. State Parks for true "get back to nature" camping.

Doris, Please email me the next time you organize another such get together.

Wal Mart parking lots are relatively safe and they satisfy the minimal downtime as there are many Wal Marts near Interstate exits. Ease of access is wonderful, plus the store is open around the clock to quick restock the refrigerator.
If it all works out, I will be taking a business / family vacation trip to Idaho in August. I intend to park/sleep at one or even two Wal Marts between PA and UT on the way, and then maybe several on the trip home.

We were planning on camping at a Walmart for the weekend while attending a hockey tournament. Campgrounds are all closed this time of year. I was kidding with my freeloading comment and if not I would be the biggest freeloader here.
Beware as the real ANTI Walmarters are watching and waiting for their moment to jump in.

Well that's a true statement, the CG groupies are always watching for a chance to try and make someone feel cheap. The way I figure it if I put a new meaning to freeloading it takes the wind out of their sails.
Freeloading = an acceptable way of economizing, sort of like going to one of those "All you can eat for a fixed price smorgasbords " nothing wrong with that because it's acceptable and oppose to being a silly spendthrift.
Cheers
Willey

Let's keep the discussion on the subject, not on personalities. Flaming of other individuals is not permitted on iRV2, so let's not choose up sides and start lobbing grenades at each other.

You don't stay at Circus Circus for the scenery, you stay for the location (and you pay dearly for it). Location, Location, Location! It would be gone now, and a casino under construction, had the economy not collapsed. So, at least a little good came out of this financial debacle.

We are in Martinsville Va for the NASCAR race this weekend. Went to the local Wal-Mart in town today. There was a motor home parked in the 1st 4 spaces in front of the garden center entrance with jacks down and slides out. Don't know circumstances but seemed totally out of place to me.

Maybe they are trying to get a sponsorship for NASCAR. Or maybe start a M/H circuit.

Free parking at Walmart?????? yeah sure....
A lot of folks stay at Walmart to save money. With me and Willa, it works just the opposite way. When we overnite at Walmart it usually costs me from fifty to several hundred dollars.
One. I always park in an out of the way part of the lot.
Two. I never put down jacks or awnings or slides out.
Three. I never put anything on the pavement. No trash, gray water, nothing.
Four. Willa always goes ''shopping''..................
Groceries are of the first order and then a long ramble thru the ''Sales'' department and a browse at the jewelry counter and then over to the gadget stuff like a potato splicer or a clock with no hands on it. (for people that dont care what time it is).........
Yep, Walmart parking is FREE.. but I wish the store was closed when we park there.
Seajay the sailor man
God bless our troops and bring them home soon and safe
God bless our vets for their service to this great nation....
