It seems to me that the Affinity Group is copying the business ethic of old Sam Walton and company, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze. I have never been able to do any sizable business with CW due to there stupid pricing and shipping policies. I can beat them anytime on any item, so I just go to CW for the piddly stuff, certainly never a Motor Home. Not after sampling their stores attitudes towards the service side of business. IMHO

I don't have much use for anything do do with Affinity Group, especially CW - hide binders extradionaire. I still have a subscription to Motorhome magazine but don't plan to renew. It becomes more obvious daily that they are out to control the RV industry, and not for the benefit of the consumer.

...and is't wonderful the way the market will sort itself out?

Lots of RV'ers are unhappy with CW. As that number grows, other suppliers will prosper, and AG will change or perish.

I used to subscribe to the magazines but found out that this forum will do more for me than the magazine as far as help, friendship and entertainment. CW can keep it all, I try to support the sponsors of the forum and so far have not been disappointed with their service or product.

In the for-what-it-is-worth column.....

CW bought all three of the Camping Time RV dealerships they were "co-mingled" with here in the Atlanta area.

Camping Time was growing and appeared to be thriving. They became even more attractive when the CW stores opened adjacent to their property. But then, from a customer's perspective, bam! no more Camping Time.

I guess the trend is pretty clear and we have already scheduled our service with another dealer. I suppose they will begin seeing a lot of that happening and while many small dealerships they buy might fold I guess those with Camping World attached are probably going to remain open as long as they have business.

While many RVer's on these sites are now shying away there are still many RVer's and newcomers who don't know much about Camping World and the Affinity Group so they still do have a market and will continue to get business.
