Can I open awning parked on an incline?
When I back my coach into my driveway, I have always been afraid to open my awning. My driveway has about a 4 degree slope. I have a manual Dometic awning 16' long. Would like to open it to clean. Are my fears justified?

I can't see any reason why not. I used to open our manual in our driveway and it's got quite a steep slope. They aren't all that heavy if that's what you are worried about.

I don't see a problem unless it's windy but that applies always.

No problem doing that. My street is on a slant in two directions and never a problem opening/closing awning!

Opening for sure will not be an issue. When you go to close it may need to push it up hill slightly so it does not roll up crooked. Our automatic did it once but opening and closing again straightened it out.

"Spk64"......caught the only issue with opening on an incline. As you roll out the awning, gravity can cause it to "walk" toward the downhill side. If you do it enough times, the awning will end up crooked with more material on one end than the other. Just be conscious of this. If it looks like it's not rolling back evenly, put a little pressure on the downhill side, toward the uphill side, while retracting.

]'Another option is if your awning is working ok now, as far as closing evenly, then when deployed, add a pop rivet to the roller at each end of fabric in the reinforced seam.....will keep material from sliding in the slot....Have also found that using a garden pump sprayer with a mixture of Dawn dish soap and water ( some use Awsome found at Dollar Store) and soak down topside, roll up awning and let sit a bit, then open back up and rinse.....
