Might be easier to get a Canadian company to do it.

Wow, I called an Insurance Corporation of British Columbia office in Victoria BC and they said if you can get your RV to anywhere in North America we insure it. My insurance runs annually and I've been out of Canada more than I've been in Canada in this past year. May be a Quebecois specific type of thing relevant only to Quebec. I hope you can get coverage from another company.

You may want to check a couple of things. Most (maybe all) provinces require that you spend a minimum of 5 months in the province. If you don't you lose drivers license, vehicle registration, provincial health care, etc. You may think I overstate but BC & Alberta for sure. Slight differences between them. No registration, no insurance. We found out for similar plans.

Just curious but what happens if you don't spend 5 months in any province? Do you have to live without a driver's license or health care?

The Canadian Snowbird Association deals with a lot of these questions. https://www.snowbirds.org/?s=contact...ate&order=desc

I first read about the problem in National Post. Went on BC gov web site. Not verbatum it says you must be physically in BC to maintain residency Your still Canadian, just lose provincial status. I called and was informed that was DL, Auto License (in BC that includes insurance), health care, homeowner tax rebates etc.because you are no longer a resident.
Alberta much the same, the word "physical " was not used. Insurance was a bit weird, because ot is private, but you still need a valid DL.
If you do a search you will fond your license plates are read repeatedly whetever you go. I have no idea if the border info is made available to provinces.

I went today to our agent and she said you have to be in BC to renew as they will not mail renewal stickers and paperwork. She also reminded me that three years ago we bought our next years sticker and paperwork six months early because we were going to Arizona and Mexico and would run our of insurance before we got back to Canada. The people parked across from us in the park we are at are from Alberta and they tell me they have never encountered insurance problems and they spend about 7 months in this area because we don't get snow.
