Canadian snowbirds taking Humira

Hi Folks.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but here goes...

We are going to be heading down into the US from BC - November to early March and I have to take Humira injections every 2 weeks for arithritus.

As this drug is very expensive ($1600 per shot), I am told that Pharmacare will only provide 3 months worth of injections, any more than that amount will have to be paid by the patient

I was just wondering if any other Canadians have come up against this hurdle and were they able to get more than 3 months worth of injections and have them covered by Pharmacare or Sunlife etc...?

Thank-you!!

Not a bad idea, cheaper than paying.

You can also write the insurance company to make an exception, most will when told the situation.

My wife ran into a similar situation.
Got more than the 3 months supply, paid the extra then submit the bill on return.
