Carefree Slide Topper question

Hello all,

Ive been having a slide topper on a full wall slide that isn't retracting correctly and I noticed what looked like a lot of debris inside the slide topper cover that could be causing it.

I figured out how to get the screws out of each end and got a TON of dirt, leaves, and debris out and it seems to have partially fixed the issue.

Now the problem is that I was unable to figure out how to release the middle of each slide topper cover since it is essentially two toppers connected in order to be able to cover the full length of the slide.

Can anyone advise me on how to release the middle ends of each topper cover (where the two topper covers connect) in order to clean out under there as well?

Any assistance is so appreciated. Thank you so much for your time!

Applefarmer -

Thanks for the reply. What I did was remove one of the screws at the end of the topper and use the spring pin to release the middle. The issue is I have the full wall slide so there isn't a clear way for me to release the other end of the topper since it butts up against the other topper cover that covers the second half of the slide.

Any thoughts on how to get the end that joins with the second topper to release?
