We are in the process of educating ourselves prior to purchasing a 5er for full-timing. Having seen a couple of negetive comments about the Carriage line of RVs (one of the coaches high on our list of possibles) I attempted to join the Carriage Forum on Yahoo Groups. The moderator turned down my application! What's up with that? Are they trying to hide something? All I wanted to do was lurk and learn...

Didn't the moderator offer an explanation? Maybe they already have enough Carriage owners already and don't want any new members?

We'll be happy to have you start a discussion in our "TT & 5th Wheel - General Discussion" forum to discuss the attributes and the undesirable of the Carriage fifth wheels.

Horsevoice, I think Richard has a great idea....why don't you add a topic to the TT and 5th wheel area?

Heck,as a former Carriage product owner,I'd like to hear what others think too!
I've been to the factory and seen them made, always thought they did a good job,but maybe of late I'd be surprised....GO for it!

At one time I though that they were built fairly well until the factory sent an 05, if I remember correctly, to the dealership for warranty and I found that the cabinet had a woodgrain vinyl wrap instead of real wood! It did not look very good when it began to bubble up and peel off in many areas. I was really suprised.

Oak raised panel lower cabinet doors S
Oak panel doors & solid oak drawers S

They actually have an entry model lower that the Cameo, it's called the Compass. We have an 05 Cameo Lxi 34ck3 and think it's a great coach. Like all makers of RV's they aren't perfect but they are very good. We have come from the boating community to RV'ing and were pleased with the quality for the price. Last summer we went to the factory for the tour and were very impressed not only with the way they were put together but the fact that we were allowed to go anywhere and ask any questions of not just the tour guide but the staff. Good luck with your search.

After a second attempt to join the Yahoo Groups Carriage list, I have not only been accepted but received a welcoming note from fiverBob, the group's moderator. Apparently, the initial problem was an electronic/internet/cyberspace glitch which sometimes frustrate and annoy us all.
I am looking forward to participating on this list and learning more about the Carriage coaches.
The internet is a wonderous thing (when it works!!)
