Carrier out of business ?
Has anyone heard of Carrier going out of business? Especially the RV part. I heard today they were having a lot of problems with their RV air conditioners and have since gone out of business. I heard this today from a RV Tech here at the campground. I can find nothing on the internet about this.

I doubt seriously that the first producer of air conditioning is going out of business. Next to food, I think the most desired creature comfort would be conditioned air that we live and work in!

Carrier is no longer making RV air conditioners, but they are not out of business.

The Carrier plant that is next door to where we both work at one time employed thousands. Now they are closing the last part left and tearing down the buildings to escape paying taxes on them I assume. That last part was to warehouse the Chinese made air conditioners. There is even a park with baseball diamonds, soccer fields, bathrooms and BBQ grills that was for employee use. Carrier is giving it to the town since there will be no employees to use it.
Sorry I did not mean to go off on a rant. This is where Carrier stands right now in my neck of the woods.

Yesterday I read an article about Carrier recalling A/C units but it didn't address anything else.

Info. found on www.carriageowners.com website confirmed that Carrier is discontinuing the RV ACs. And there is a recall and I believe it has to do with those units that have the heat strip, not the heat pump. But check out this website as someone posted the models and serial numbers involved to see if your unit is recalled.
