I don't know of any state that requires a CDL for a motor home. Some require a Class B license if the MH is over a certain weight (26,000 in Texas).

The only way you may need a CDL for an RV is if you are going to do deliveries for pay. The word "Commercial" in CDL means the license is required for commerce and implies driving for pay. As FlyingDriver says, you may need a different class license to drive an RV over a certain weight; but as long as you're driving for pleasure, a CDL should not be required.

Because of reciprocity between states, the only state that should matter to you is your home state. If you're legally licensed there, you're legal through the other states in which you may travel.

Nope... But a CDL can save you BIG $$$ on your insurance rate.
