Thanks for sharing, times 2. We just got an '11 Vista 26P and one of the few complaints on accomadations is that there is no storage, pockets or otherwise, in the driver's or co-pilot's seating area to store items like insurance, warranty and registration information. Your console opens up some additional areas of thought.

looks nice. Does it impede your ability to get in/out of the drivers seat?

Yeah, no storage or pockets was the first, of a few complaints I also had on my 2012 Vista after we drove out for the first time.

Stay tunes for storage compartments to be added, left to the driver's, and right to the passenger's seat; pictures coming up before we set out for camping this coming Thursday.

Yes, somewhat, BUT.......it is hardly noticeable. I already got used to stepping in with my right foot first, between the seat and console, then swinging in my right leg between the seat and steering wheel with no effort, and boom.....I'm in.....(at least that's what I told her ).

So, I guess in answering you question in three word.....No, not really.

Good job! (And the dogger is adorable; I love Yorkies. ) Do you think the "doghouse" will put out too much heat for the little guy?

Thanks and good point regarding the heat produced by the engine.
Before I made the box, I toyed with the idea for several months. During said time I tested the area, after a long drive, for excess heat. But the area wasn't even close to warm because Winnebago did a good job insulating the area around the engine.

Thanks for your concern:

I built a tray that I place on the dash of motorhome for maps and other litter that accumulates when driving. Looks similar to OP's. On the inside bottom of tray I put a picture (of John Wayne cowboy) and when it is not being used on dash it hangs on wall with a recessed saw-tooth hanger on back. Art. My kind of art anyway. Just an idea.
