They seem to move plenty of air through the cases. I have never read of or had vapor lock re-starting. Nor those hot pinging clicking sounds as it cools . I have also manhandled mine up against my belly and legs right after shutting off in hot summer sun many times.

Like 153Stars says, that style pulls quite a bit of air through the inside while running. Mine is inside a quiet box that includes an additional fan to move air just for cooling purposes.
