Changing Battery on EEZTire Sensor on Inner Dually
Hey all, I’m flummoxed and need help. My husband is at work for another 24 hours and I’m trying to get our motorhome ready for a trip. I’ve changed all the batteries on our EEZTire monitoring sensors except for the ones on the inside duallys. The valve stems do not have extensions and I can’t squeeze my hand through the wheel openings of the outside tire. I’ve tried using channel locks attached to a wrench and a ratchet (we don’t have one large enough apparently). I haven’t tried crawling underneath and accessing it between the tires because even then, I’m not sure what to use to get it unscrewed in time before I let all the air out. I’m missing something obvious or something creative. Any help is appreciated!

Looks to me like the outer wheels of the rear tires has to come off to get at them. Sorry, but someone didn't do you a favor by mounting them like that.

I had valve stem extensions installed when I bought my coach to fix the problem you are having. Makes no sense to sell these coaches without them installed!

Thanks @A32deuce and @armullis for the responses. Darn it... I was hoping I just didn’t know the trick! :P Sounds like the “trick” will be valve extensions. I suppose for now, I’ll just crawl under the coach and be ready to hose myself off afterwards. Looks like I should learn how to use our onboard air compressor while I’m at it. I can top the pressures off before putting the sensors back on. What a chore!

Make sure you have a tire store install a single long valve stem. Don't use those cheap screw on extensions. You'll be asking for trouble.

I have the same issue as you and have to crawl under the coach to reach my arm between the tires to remove. Interested in the valve extenders, I had the one attached to the center hub removed due to breaking and had the metal valves installed.

I reach between the tires and I don't use the "anti theft covers" so I don't have to use that special wrench.

If the buttons don't have the anti-theft covers on them, it's possible you can get an appropriate sized socket and extension with a universal joint to reach in and remove. A bolt/nut extractor tool might provide the grip needed to remove and install them. Proper valve stem extensions are needed.
