Good advice all around. I would add that for us, it worked out best with a smaller tote, rather than getting the biggest blue tote we can carry - they can get so heavy that you are forced to VERY carefully tow them behind your car to the dump site and they are hard to manage. A smaller one (with wheels) may not hold as much but is much easier to maneuver. And usually we only need to empty enough to get us through that last 2-3 days anyhow.

I prefer not to break camp just to empty the gray tank, then have to set up all over again but it does happen once in a while.

Well you said you can go 3-4 days.. My gray water tank is good for about 3-4 showers

So, every other day (I have two gray water tanks though one is basically just the shower)
