Charging my 6 Volt Batteries with Portable Solar
I know this will be a dumb question, but I don't want to screw up my batteries. My coach is located where I cannot plug in to maintain the batteries. So I purchased a briefcase 100W solar panel with integrated controller. It is a 12V setup. I connected it across a bank of two 6V batteries so that I was charging 12V. I also have a battery combiner that will connect the chassis batteries. The idea is not to charge, but just maintain the scavenger loads so I don't ruin my batteries. A tech at Lifeline helped me size the system.
Connecting the charger the way I did with proper polarity is fine, right?
