Chased my tail but solved kitchen sink plumbing issue

HR Invicta coach.

Our kitchen sink drain began slow drain at the end of last years trip.
Bathroom sink and shower drain as expected.

After several treatments of Green Gobbler at home it "seemed" better but once on the road again for this winters trip the drain was still very slow.

Tried one last batch of a Walmart brand liquid drain "unclogger" and no joy.

The drain plumbing has the normal P trap which is clean and clear then runs horizontally to a down drain. Then it apparently makes a number of 90° bends then run horizontally again to a Y connection under the bathroom sink.

Too convoluted to run a snake through.

Wife asked me to step aside and wanted to do the vinegar and baking soda routine. I made one attempt at explaining to her the P trap was not clogged so that would not do anything. She had me do it anyway. Of course no change.

Then the Hmmm moment arose. I learned about drain vents

No air getting into the system and the water can not really flow.
Discovered the air vent under the sink was not functioning.

Removed it and the sink drained as expected. Replaced it with a $10 one from the Borrego Springs True Value hardware.

Life is great. Hope this lesson learned my help someone else.

Cheers all,
Bat Dude

Yep, that air emitter valve can cause several issues if not functioning properly. The main sign is foul odors in the RV.
