Check Warranty when buying new (not is current model year or one year prior)

We are in the process of buying a "new" model 2011 MH (it is new, just has been at the dealer for a while). New models seem to be coming out earlier and earlier. 2014 models are already at dealers and being ordered and it is just May 2013.

When checking the warranty on this New 2011 model, here is what I found (from the User Manual/Warranty info), the Factory Warranty drops from a a year to 90 days, almost you you are buying a used MH:

"If the motorhome is not of the current or prior model year when you take deliver of the motorhome OR you register your new motorhome in a business name or use your motorhome for any rental, commercial or business purposes whatsoever, the duration of the limited warranty ends ninety (90) days after you first take delivery of the motorhome or
after the odometer reaches 5,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The duration of the Limited Warranty covering the steel or aluminum frame structure, only, of the sidewalls (excluding slide outs), roof, and rear and front walls ends twelve (12) months after you first take delivery of the motorhome or after the odometer reaches 15,000 miles, whichever occurs
first."

MY ADVICE: read all the fine print!

That is something to use for leverage, if only 90 days then twist arm of dealer to include the rest as service plan that is same as manufacturer from national providor.

Does not hurt to ask, and get it in writing before money is spoken.

Yes, we requested that an EW be part of the deal (and a very good one too) plus a big discount on price. The MH is a 2011 THOR Serrano

What about the chassis and appliance warranties? They usually start only when the first retail owner takes possession, but the dealer typically has to file paperwork to make it happen.
