Check your screws

Many of our TT's have self-tapping screws holding trim on the outside of the trailer. I think this is very poor craftsmanship from the factory. These screws back out while driving down the road and create a tire hazard for everyone behind us. Before every trip I go around the trailer and make sure none of these are loose. I learned this when I found some missing after a trip. Using small bolts and nuts in place of those loose or lost will keep this from happening in the future.

On our last trip out, my toad ended up with a self tapping screw in one of its tires. I wondered where it came from! Now I know. Where do I send the bill? Just kidding.

There are so many manufactured homes going up and down our highways, it's no wonder there aren't more flats. The technician that dismounted and patched mine said he patches several per week from those screws.
