Chevy Cruze GM halts sales
I thought this was interesting but I am not sure if I remember if the Cruze is towable 4 wheels down so it may not be a big issue if these are not used as a Toad.

According to that article, the Cruze is built in Ohio. The airbags are made by a Japanese supplier. Guess they need some "Made in the USA" airbags.

The Cruze is built in Lordstown, Ohio. Just drove past the plant last week. They had 100's of Cruzes in the parking lots and loaded on railroad cars.

GM has taken so many hits around recalls and investigations into the ignition problems. When it comes to safety there is no good excuse. The airbag issue I think is less GMs responsibility as I'm certain that the airbags are certified federally before being sold in North America. But the optics of this, added to everything else you read weekly, just doesn't help GMs image.

The "good news" is, Honda and Toyota also use those defective airbags.

I believe I also saw on the news they have a repairable antifreeze leak and a switch problem it can turn off going down the road.

How soon we forget ; Didn't Ford recall 14 million vehicle for fires caused by cruise control wiring . How many Jeeps recalled to install a gear shift interlock. Dodge trucks for ignition switch wiring and a separate recall for keys that jammed against the steering wheel and turned the truck off, and ... and ..and!
Aren't we glad that the government makes them recall vehicles for safety issues?
