I'm installing a new Clean Dump system and have a question regarding the white plastic rings that appear to go on the out side of the 3" hose. What purpose do they serve. It seems you would put the screw clamp over the plastic rings but the clamp only cover a part of them. Can anyone help. The instructions are not very clear on this.

Thread them into the grooves at each end of the hose. Without them in place it is near impossible to get a leak proof seal.
