We had to go to St Jude/ LeBoehnuer for my nephew last year and not only did they allow us to dry camp in their gated employee lot, they had the security gaurd open the gate after midnight to let us in, help us get situated and patrolled the lot hourly. ( couldn't help but keep the guy supplied with fresh coffee)
Point is, I think you will find that the hospital will be more accommodating than you could imagine. After all, your support of your family member is a very important part of this whole process....

All the best for you and your family as you go through this very difficult time. I'm sitting here in my husband's hospital room having just been transferred from CCU. He had lung cancer surgery on Friday.

Just a thought, but some campgrounds and storage lots have short term parking.
