Cold cab in a 2020 Thor Palazzo

I just bought a 2020 Palazzo in Utah and picked it up in February and brought it back to NM. The outdoor temperature was around 30 degrees on the trip back. Coming back, the cab was really cold while driving down the road but would quickly warm up when we were idling.
My thinking is that the heat from the engine to the cab heater box in the front of the RV goes thru 35 feet of non-insulated pipes. This piping is acting like a radiator that gives off the heat in the pipe before it gets to the cab. Of course the pipe doesn't work well as a radiator while idling therefore the heat makes it to the heater box.
This is my thinking and I'll try insulating the pipe before our next cold trip. Has anybody had this problem?

This was a common problem at our dealership. If you lose heat while driving it is usually air leaks in the dash area. At night have someone shine a light under the hood and check inside for light coming through.

The engine heat is piped via a fairly thick coolant hose, so heat loss usually isn't a big factor. Your symptoms sound much more like an air leak under the dash (front firewall) of possibly a outside air mixer door stuck open. In either case, forward motions forces cold air into either the cab or the cab-area heat/cool vents. I'd bet on gaps in the front wall.

Gary is right on. Our MH was terrible to drive in cold weather. Went thru a couple of cans of foam insulation to close up all leaks.

You were right Gary. The air door actuary (Woory D-2) is not functioning. I'll try by replacing it. Thanks again.
