Considering purchasing MH from factory vice dealer

We own our 3rd MH and are considering downsizing and purchasing next unit from factory. Headed to show in Hershey to check out several. Nexus brand seems most interesting. Would like to hear from anyone who has purchased from factory and had positive or negative experiences. BTW -- I negotiated purchase for prior MH's when purchased from dealer. Is it possible to negotiate with factory when purchasing new MH?

Thanks in advance!!

As far as I know, most RV manufacturers do not deal direct because most of the factories don't have the personnel available for final prep and for the customer walk through. They also don't want to be bothered with time-consuming price negotiations. There are some exceptions of high-end, custom RV manufacturers; but as far as I know, most RV manufacturers sell only through dealers.

At the Hershey show, there will be factory reps available, but the manufacturer will be assisted at the show by a dealer. Some of the dealers are located as far away as New Your and Ohio. The factory reps answer questions, but any selling that is done is done by the representing dealer. You will take delivery of the RV, whether bought off the floor or custom ordered at the show, at the representing dealer.

Chuck, you don't say what price coach you are looking for. If you are looking at lower price coaches you will need to work through the dealer. If you are looking at high end coaches, though, you may need to work only with the factory. My coach, Foretravel, no longer has a dealer network. If you want a Foretravel you will buy it directly from the factory in Nacogdoches, TX. The exception is the Realm, which is only sold by Motorhomes Specialists. I believe Newell is also a factory-only company.

Nexus. Is factory direct. There new 34 disel pusher is a winner. Save 50 to 70. Buying direct. My experience with rv sales people sucks. If you like the Nexus model. Try it. Hershey this week. Do not work for them. But looks like a win win for every one

He already stated he is looking at Nexus, and they sell only factory direct. I think the factory direct sales are usually fixed price, but there is always the variability of the trade-in value if you already have an RV.

Nexus is doing a lot of advertising but has very little track record so far. Hard to say if their claims are of any value.

Chuck-

In Class C motorhomes, Lazy Daze sells direct:

Motorhome Dealer | Low Profile Motorhome | RV Manufacturer | Quality Motorhome

They have a devoted following, both on the road and the Web. We owned one.
