Cost of PA vs. Florida living

We currently live and own a house in PA but are full timing in the motor home. Any one know the cost differences between having permanent mailing address in PA vs Florida?

Fl registration is relatively inexpensive ( donít know what it is in Pa) I paid about $70 a year as I recall. Also Fl doesnít have State income tax

I just did a quick internet search and fount this
https://worldpopulationreview.com/st...index-by-state

There is a lot of info out there, just do some searches and go from there but it will go beyond just the cost of living and

  • depends if you want to buy or rent a house.
  • Property taxes and income taxes also play a role.
  • Cost of registering vehicles
  • Sales tax but if you are full timing and traveling may not make a difference.
We live in TN which usually shows up in the top 10 of lowest costs states. Sales tax is high but we don't spend that much so not a big deal. Property taxes are relatively low. No state income tax. Low cost to register vehicle. Climate is on average mild so utility costs for heat and cooling is reasonable.

A lot to consider

Good Luck

Are you considering selling the PA house and buying in FL, or just getting a FL-based mail service? Owning a home in FL varies widely in cost, depending on whether it is in one of the South Florida winter meccas, a large metro area, or one of the more rural towns and cities on central & northern FL. Rural area property taxes are low and no state income tax, so it can be rather cheap.

We used Fl for home base for 2 years. No vehicle inspections, but $400+ one time title fee.

RV Insurance in St Pete, FL. was $500 more then upstate NY.

They say that home and auto insurance rates are going to climb in FL, due to the recent wave of storms. Last year, it was already double of what I pay in NY.

PA does not tax retirement income. FL. has no income tax.

St Pete isn't exactly the low rent district, though. Get away from the big metro and coastal areas (St Pete is both of those things) and I'll bet not much difference. St Pete would be more comparable to the NYC region than to Utica or Binghamton (upstate).
