Because of the above experience and keeping as debt free as possible, we estimate our fuel burn; pull enough cash out of the bank to cover the fuel costs. Cash purchases usually save a few cents at the fuel pump too.
Nope... in 16 years of full-timing and traveling constantly, including Alaska - absolutely no rejections. However, before our travel from season to season we just gave the credit card company a call and told them we'd be traveling through the following states. It just takes a couple minutes to do this and easy-going afterward. We never carry big wads of cash and honestly, rarely use cash anymore. Everything is put on the credit card and it's amazing how big the cashback checks are. We always pay the card off fully each month so no interest charges.
