Gas and diesel prices

We’ve seen prices jump ever since Jan. 20th, not too much from the pipeline incident,

Cost are up but have been going up since January- plenty of supply. TDS would be helpful.

According to my wife, on the Today show Saturday a tanker fleet owner said he had an issue because some drivers had trouble finding the diesel they needed so they could make fuel deliveries. I don't live in the SE so I've not seen any changes.

I agree with what you are saying. Five million dollars is a pittance to a company like Colonial. This may have only been a test though for someone to see what they could get away with. To me this sounded a bit too easy. The next time the ransom might be one hundred million or more. Without more protection by the computer gurus we are vulnerable to these hackers.
Someone somewhere is laughing out loud while spending that five mil.

Plenty of gas out here in Washington and Oregon. Prices have been going up but not because of the pipeline and not as much as back east. As of Sunday 80% of DC gas stations had no gas.

Price went down to 1.75 at non-big truck stops last summer when demand decreased, production decreased and Trump went out to lease new oil fields and no one wanted them. Not one lease was sold.

Price here is about 2.85 as demand increased while production is still down. The real question is will oil producers turn on new well or wait for higher oil prices??

No problem finding fuels, gas and diesel from Chester SC to I81 via I77 and from there to Harrisburg Pa yesterday and today. Fuel was scarce along SR121 from Saluda to Chester SC. So it appears the hoarders have sucked dry their own local supplies.

We just drove our RV coach (diesel) from Tampa, FL to Dillard, GA (NE corner) on May 15 and 16. We saw some stations that were out of gasoline, out of certain octane grades, and diesel. However, there were other stations that did have fuel. We stopped at one truck stop that had run out of diesel and trucks were parked waiting for a delivery. We kept going and stopped at the next truck stop. They had diesel - and no one in line. We paid around $3.30/gal for diesel. The price of fuel is higher than it has been for a variety of reasons, including higher world wide crude oil prices, a change to more costly to produce summer blends, some refineries being offline, increased demand as the pandemic eases, and a shortage of tanker truck drivers, etc.

Actually, if you look at the charts they will show the retail price of gas started going up in October. You must just not have noticed until January 20.

Looks like they hardened themselves right out of their own network. I've seen where penetration tests (Pen Tests) can do this, though always in a test environment. Guess they use prod as their test environment too
