Need to fully understand Camping World new RV purchase series of events. I am sure I could pick the RV I want, sign purchase and finance papers and then wait for make ready and our PDI list to be completed. At that point CW has no motivation to get us done. I have read posts where new owners didn't get to take the new one home for months.

Why not add a clause to your purchase that says the delivery MUST be on or before a specified date? If they want the sale I'm sure they'll accomodate.

Don't know but will bet contract has statement that no modifications or changes allowed. Looking for folks with recent CW purchase or know the CW ropes and hoops. If we do this I want transaction to be to our advantage at every step. I can not trust everything salesman says. Not real excited about buying from CW - but to get the one we want and trade ours in, CW is the only choice in TX. To further protect us I won't buy out of Texas as we will not be protected by lemon law. So it is either trade at CW or sell on our own and then buy from MHS in Alvarado.

How about a pre purchase inspection with it made clear that the purchase will go ahead once the problems found during the inspection are sorted out.

we didn't buy a new one from them but our experience was quick and easy.I drove it and found a couple of things I wanted fixed and put a deposit on it to hold it and told them we would sign the deal when the problems were fixed and to call me when the problems were fixed,they called two days later and I drove it again and all was good then we signed the deal.

This is a good start. How much should the minimum deposit be? Percentage of sale or a fixed amount. At what point should the credit application be done. CW wanted it while we were still in email stage.
Maybe it is a good time to build a purchase schedule of events.
!. Find the one you want
2. If trade involved get drive out price in writing and agree to place and time allowed to transfer belongings
3. Deposit equal to x percent of sale or X amount
4. Buyer inspection with written list of items needing attention before signing
5. Complete credit application
6. Reinspect to be sure every item on list step four is done to your satisfaction
7. Walk thru with seller to test and demo systems
8. Sign papers and go camping

#9 take it back to get those items fixed you found on your shake down camp.

Not a dime of cash would be on any deposit for me. If they needed one to get things moving it would be put on a credit card. Deal would be consummated only after completion of a satisfactory PDI.

These guys are snakes. The most common cop out is regarding the decision's not up to them. It's always about somebody higher on the company ladder...

Even if they say they'll take care of an issue, don't believe it until you see it first hand. They're there to tell you anything you want to hear, even if based on complete fantasy. They get away with it because there will be no recourse when stuff starts falling apart around one of their "stories".

Jaded? Sure! Do some research on the company. They have a TERRIBLE reputation....

Their not all bad,we had a very good experience with the one Orlando,Florida.

WRT deposits, make sure the dealer puts in writing that it is a "Refundable Deposit" and since a deposit is a sign of good faith that you intend to complete the deal if all is ok it does not have to be a big deposit, $500 TO $1,000 should be fine.
If a Dealer asked me for a certain % of the selling price I would head for the door.

Settle on price. Tender a $1000.00 deposit, refundable and final sale pending acceptable (to buyer) independent inspection. If there are issues discovered renegotiate the price or gave dealer fix. Specify date to fix by.

Deal is not done and final money is not tendered until all is fixed to buyers satisfaction. Get everything in writing. Verbal from salesman, manager, owner, service advisor, etc. mean nothing.

If they don't like your terms go buy somewhere else. Lots of good RVs out there.

I would take my used MH to PPL ( Used RVs, Motorhomes for Sale, and Consigned sales - PPL Motor Homes ) and have them sell it, then go to MHS and buy want I wanted, and save some money for sure. PPL has sold 1809 RV since Jan 1, 2014. That's 180 units a month.
