Hello,
We are in the process of buying a preowned coach. One of the toys included is the Datastorm 2 way satalite system. The previous owner had a use for this expensive system, but do I really need it? The coach also has a manual satalite dish for TV. Your comments are appreciated.

The Datastorm is for 2-way sat internet and is a very expensive item. Datastorm Forum has lots of info and pricing info for the service. I am on the net now with a sat connection. Wouldn't be without it! If internet is important to you, then you have the most expensive part already taken care of. If not--you could probably sell it through the Datastormusers forum.

We have a Datastorm as well. We fulltime and use the DS for our business. If you enjoy being on the internet you'll really like the datastorm. Anywhere in the country, middle of nowhere, you can get online.

That being said, it's about $1100 a year for service, so if you're only using the motor home for a few weeks of that it might be a little expensive. I'm not sure what the shortest commitment is for service. Check out that forum link that Dick gave above.
