Dealing with minor illness on the road?

This is a serious question. .Thanks for bringing it up. I am always solo, though except for truck stops when traveling, I always stay at campgrounds. I have had episodes at home where, if it weren't for my wife driving me to the ER or calling an ambulance, I would probably be dead. The thought scares me on the road and I am hyper-vigilant about not feeling well. Fortunately, I have not experienced the need for help on the road, but it is a concern.

Yes I keep all of the OTC stuff, in anticipation, and begin taking at the very first sign of a potential problem. I know hydration is critical. There was one time I began to feel a little poor at a truck stop. I immediately got some Emergent - C and began drinking lots of water. Fortunately, .I soon began to feel better.

Handling health issues while traveling is one of my top reasons to purchase an RV. We are retired and want to travel. DH is a brittle diabetic. His blood sugar has dropped to seriously low readings many times.

Traveling in our RV, I have my home with me. I can fix meals, snacks and respond to a low blood sugar situation. I keep our RV well stocked with foods / juice / glucose pills needed.

For the most part we stay at RV Parks and some National /State Parks where 911 services are available.

He does not drive, but could in an emergency. We tow our Saturn Vue which would be easier for him to drive if necessary.

So long story short, owing an RV allows us to travel in safety and comfort.
