Decisions

I'm narrowing in and close to making a purchase on a used Class A. To be honest, I have a deposit on one subject to inspections etc.

In the beginning of my quest I started looking at coaches in the $40-50,000 range. Out of curiosity I started looking a little higher and then higher ending up around the $100,000 range.

I drive new 45' Prevosts for a living and so that's where my lofty dreams began. So a tag axle and big power are two things that are high on my wish list. The lower price ranges just didn't offer anything close thus looking at more expensive ones.

I went to look at a 2004 Beaver Marquis Ruby last weekend, it was love at first sight. So I put a deposit on it. It's by far nicer than any of the others that I've seen. From what I've read on here people absolutely love these coaches. This coach is just over $100,000 and a lot more than I originally planned on spending. A friend of mine's father used own a 38' Triple E with a smaller Cat in it. I just found the same one online. It is mint and has been meticulously maintained. At a $60,000 asking price it's a lot less which is appealing. However, it looks plain by contrast to the Beaver which is nearly mint and been very well maintained as well.

So there's my dilemma. Before I follow through I just want to be sure of my decision. I'm sure many of you have face a similar situation when making a decision on which coach to buy. Being that this is my first motorhome and with the amount of money I'm going to spend I'm a little tentative and nervous.

Your thoughts and feedback are all appreciated!

After you drive the Marquis you will have your decision made. No comparison.

I took a peak at a 2004 Marquis that is located in Langly on RVT. Not sure if this is the one your looking at but I noticed on drivers side, below the window there is a water stain line on the carpet half way down to the arm rest. This type of stain means it was soaked up to that line. And with the controls on the arm means rusted connections at some point. Just so you know of this is the one.

Hi bizzerbiz, same unit I'm sure. Have inspections lined up but, didn't know about this! I'll check that out when I see it next. Sounds like potentially a deal breaker.

Not much to compare between a Triple E and the Marquis except that both are motorhomes.
