DEF mpg
Just got back from the Keys. Round trip about 1450 miles. Just filled DEF tank and averaged about 212 miles per gallon of DEF.
Anyone else calculate their mpg? I am thinking is about the norm.

Just finished a 3,300 mile trip but haven't refilled def tank yet but based on educated guess on how much it'll take to top it off, I averaged roughly 220 miles/gal.

I've never seen it listed as mpg, but usually is around 3% of fuel used.

That would come to 233mpg for DEF. My calculation may be a bit higher. I filled up DEF today to the very top. When I filled it before our trip it was not completely to top. My 212 may be a low calculation.

With my 2018 Ram, I get about 450 mpg, while mostly towing.
Overall, since new, about 600 mpg.... 54gal/33,000 miles

That's what I get with my Sprinter. One 2-1/2 gallon jug for the 1600 mile trip to Houston or back.

And that's also what I get, at 19 mpg average on long highway trips. 2.5 gallons in 1600 miles is 640 mpg, but of course, I have a little 3 liter engine in a little 9000 lb van, so there's that.

The 8 gallons in our Jeep seems to last about the same as the 8-10K oil change interval. So, 1000+ mpg. The car gets 22-24mpg around town and 27-28mpg on the freeway.
Coach doesn’t use it.

It is proportional to fuel used. For me it's about 1.5% Currently 10 gallons DEF vs. 600 gallons diesel. I get about 16 mpg towing and 27 not. (Chevy Colorado)

I get about 400 mpg of DEF with my 450 ISL Cummins. It weighs 46,000 with toad and averages a bit over 7 mpg of fuel.

MPG figures are relative to several things - and just about everyone's DEF usage will be different then his neighbors. What determines DEF usage includes:
- Vehicle weight
- city/highway/heavy or light traffic
- Engine displacement
- Driving style - aggressive or sedate
-Final drive ratio (i.e. engine RPM for a given speed)
While this chart, beloe, is for a Ford 6.7 pickup, it is relevant as a guide where you can more or less extrapolate your particular vehicle. Mine has the 3.55 rear axle ratio and my DEF usage is pretty close to what is shown though I really don't bother with DEF calculations. It's just a part of ownership of a realtively new diesel powered vehicle
