Dental work in Mexico

Need to find A good Dentist in Mexico for Cosmetic restoration, full mouth. In the past, we have seen posts about places to stay in the US and cross the border for dental work. We are on the East Coast and would Love some recommendations. Any and All information greatly appreciated.

Algodonas at Yuma, AZ and Progresso, TX are popular places that those from the U.S. go..... but don't try to do this now, with COVID-19. They both have large parking lots at the border and it's an easy walk to cross and all the dentists are right there. Make sure you have proper ID/passport before crossing. There are many RV parks in both areas. We haven't been for a while so I hesitate to recommend anyone but when we did have work done we were very satisfied - crowns and fillings.

I crossed in Yuma and went to Dr Valenzuela Dental. 928-328-8845. No complaints. My Scottsdale AZ dentist wanted $1,400, they did it for $350. A crown

I read good things about Amazing Dental, 929-328-8846.

I have had 4 Serious problems with Four different US dentists in my lifetime. No longer going to US dentists except for cleaning.

I go to IU Dental school for crowns(about 1/2 cost of local dentists) and cleaning. Takes longer, but much better than previous at dentist.

Los Algadones - good work, decent prices. We see many people go here for their meds too.

Park on CA side and walk across. Many RV parks or boondocking sites close by.

Dental work

We use Circle Dental in Algodones (928) 328-1988 and ask for Dr Jorge Jimenez. The wife and I have both had implants for several years with no problems. He got his advance implant cert. from Harvard. Offers a seven year guarantee. Speaks excellent English. You can check his web site for prices circledentalgroup. com. If you need to stay in a hotel most dentists offer discounts for hotels in Yuma and even the Q when it opens back up just ask

Dr Jimenez is ours also, great work and we are happy with the price. It can be a few dollars more than a couple of others in the area but the service is fantastic. While there pick up a new pair of glasses.

There are plenty of places to park your RV in the area, whether you need full hook up or if you boondock. To get to Algadones go to the "Q" casino on the border between Arizona and California where they charge "6 dollars??" To park in their border crossing parking lot. Walking to the Mexico side is easy. After the dental and optical visits, you can get the clinic to call their transport service who will drive you back across the border. The border crossing can be just as long for the vehicle as it is for walking but you get to sit in a car. Have passport ready and you are back at the parking lot done for the day before happy hour.

I think an argument could be made that it’s better to go now than later to avoid the virus. I would check a map to see the number of reported cases at the various sites on the US side, and then choose where to go.

We have gone to a Progreso dentist in MX near the South Texas border for the last 2 winters. We can park on the US side and walk across the border. Their prices were $25/cleaning, $45/cavity, $200/reg crown, and $400/white crown.
My reg summer dentist said I needed a crown replaced (and maybe a root canal) and 4 cavities filled. I declined and 6 months later went to Dr. Portillo and he said my teeth were fine and didn't need any work.

Dr. Arnold Portillo, Dentist, Progreso, Mx, 956-532-4900.
They also take insurance if that's an option.

First - information is spotty and often unreliable - as with most of the COVID-19 the reports are often very political.

I too have had work done and was very satisfied - good price and good work.

After spending almost $3,000 for a Cap from a local dentist only to have it go bad, then they wanted To charge me again - we decided to give it a try. Happy I did.

From what I've been able to Gather on the Area - https://www.yumacountyaz.gov/home/showdocument?id=43434

Yuma has had 157 cases with 1 Death

Currently 24 Yuma County Residents are hospitalized AS OF 8 am 05/07/20;

Crossing into Mexico is on a Need basis ????

U.S., Mexico to limit ‘nonessential’ border crossings to stem COVID-19 - but have heard that these are being lifted? (good luck trying to get real honest reliable info) best advice is to call a number of Dentist to see what and how it is Now.

https://www.dentistsofalgodones.com/travel.html

Some/Most of the Dentist were closed till just recently, due to the COVID-19 concerns.

There you go - This is an interesting topic - as it will come up almost every year - those who have had success - Many - and will tell you so - those that think it's crazy will also tell you so - but for the most part they - the ones who don't like it - have not been. (JMHO)

That's all I've got, Best of Luck,

For many years we have been going to Dr Lopez at Local dental in Algodonas at Yuma. We have told others about him and all have the best to say. Clean and modern office. https://www.lovaldental.com

Anyone here have dental work done in Juarez/El Paso? I need 3 crowns and the pricing I’m seeing is very attractive ,plus we are headed that way in January 2024
One clinic mentioned to me was Rio Grande in Juarez. Anyone here heard of it?

Personally, I wouldn't go to Juarez. Are you heading west? Nogales Mexico in Arizona just south of Tucson is excellent and very, very safe. The dentists are 1/2 - 1 block in and filled with Americans having dental work of all kinds. Good shopping and restaurants, also. Dental Laser is very popular.
