Well, this time No means No to the NEW ordinance.
"An initiative to allow any individual to engage in activities, such as resting and sheltering oneself in a non-obstructive manner, in outdoor public places was on the ballot for voters in Denver, Colorado, on May 7, 2019. It was defeated.
A "yes" vote was a vote in favor of adding "Article IX - Right to Survive in Public Spaces" to the Denver Revised Municipal Code, thereby allowing the following activities in outdoor public places without limits or penalties enforced by the city or county, law enforcement, or any other entity:
resting;
sheltering oneself;
eating or exchanging food; and
occupying one's own legally parked vehicle or a legally parked vehicle with permission of the owner."
Looks like Denver residents don't want the same issues that cities like Seattle and San Francisco residents and businesses are dealing with.
