Diamond Shield or what?
I just removed the plastic cover off the bumper area of my 2008 Damon Essence.. It had turned dark and could not be cleaned - just looked dirty/dingy all the time. I had pulled a small piece from below the entry door a while back when it began to get mildewed under and around the edges. This took maybe ten minutes of careful pulling. Figuring the bumper area might be a bit more trying, I started working the passenger side edge and was pleased to find it coming off relatively easy and mostly in one piece. Well actually a piece would break off occasionally. This went well until I got to an area about the size of a silver dollar or maybe a bit larger. I pull and scratch and get a piece the size of a grain of rice. This went on for 30 minutes or so and then became easy again. I had the entire width of the coach off (maybe total length of 9 or 10 feet and 18 to 20 inches wide) in a bit over and hours.
After reading some scary accounts of how much trouble others have had I think I was extremely luck - and only had two stone impact areas with a tiny chips in the paint. Some one asked me what brand was this stuff and I had to confess I had no idea. Somehow I thing DS but don't really know. Any idea how to tell?
