Several hours after I posted it went up to $5.10

Did Diesel just jump in price?

Yes , on the news report I watched a couple days ago , diesel specifically, that as a result of the Russian cut off Diesel was more likely to move to 6.00 or above average in the US. Not good news.

And, I read this morning where crude is back at $98 a barrel, and Chevron / Exxon again made massive profits! Filled today at $5.29 a gallon.

Loves I55 $5.49 but 5 miles North & South on 55 ..$4.89 at different truck stops. 50ish mi. south of Chicago. That's a pretty big difference.

Totally anecdotal here but I travel some pretty popular highways for RV's and I feel like I am seeing less on the roads this year.

Hardly unbelievable that there would be less RV's on the roads.

I think you just described perpetual motion. I’m going to patent it.

In all seriousness, thank you for an informative post on this topic.

And just look at the performance of poor old Exxon-Mobil. They posted record sales and profits for the year, even after taking a multi-billion write off for the Russian loss of business. I cannot feel the least bit sorry for the greedy oil companies.

In a 12 mile radius: Diesel is ranging from $5.199/gal at our sorry excuse of a truck stop (also most in town - they seem to agree on prices) down to $4.949/gal (Sam's Club & Murphy). I post prices on Gas Buddy. For my area, they stay pretty much up to date. Rarely more than 24 hrs old. Gas, is ranging $4.099/gal down to $3.829/gal (lowest is Sam's Club).

UP 30 cents
Went up at Fry's yesterday to 5.19, but at the Speedway on the corner it was 4.95, when we went over to Sedona. Heading that way in a few to get some things, will update on prices later.
