Did your RV come with a jack?

I see the spare tire, but if there a jack somewhere I can't find it. If I wanted to buy a jack, what kind ? 20 ton bottle ? harbour freight ? or a name brand ?

On eBay, I found a place that was selling the Jack's removed from the chassis before they were stretched. Picked all from them. Been 6 years but you could try an eBay automotive search.

Trust me you will not have a jack. Yes any HF 10 to 20-T squatty jack will do the trick. Squatty so it will more easily fit under the front axle.

As with any hydraulic jack top of the line or cheap never expect that they will always hold and use safety stands. In all my years (50+) of working with jacks and HS students I never had a jack fail causing an injury. Most often if they fail the leak is very slow so there's plenty of warning. Never had one come crashing down.

If you can fit it under the front axle then lift it 1" to change a tire. If it fails it falls one inch. Lift up on the frame and you're talking lifting a lot higher.

Always be aware of frame twisting when lifting just one wheel. An inch or two should not be an issue but higher without lifting the opposite side is or can be an issue. That's also why all jack leveling system work the jacks in pairs most all the time.

If you use the auto-level feature when they are close to level they will tweak one jack at a time but the movement is small so little or no twisting of the frame.

If your coach has hydraulic leveling jacks, you can actually use those, at least to a point. They work exactly like the jack, but are upside down. Your jacks work in tandem so two will have to be deployed at the same time. You may also want to use a bit of cribbing under the jack next to a tire that isn't flat simple to minimize the frame twist, even though a coach mounted on a cutaway chassis is designed for a certain amount of flex.

And yes, you can lift the drive tires off of the ground. Unless you are stopped on a serious slope and on either fine sand or wet slick clay, your coach isn't gonna walk off. The friction of your pads against the ground will hold you in place.

I bought a 10 ton hydraulic bottle jack from HF.. You may also need a couple pieces of 2x6 wood.

I knock the lugs lose, then raise it as high as it will go with the levelers, then put the jack under the axle and raise it just enough to get the wheel off.. Remember, the higher you raise it, the higher you'll need to lift the wheel to get it back on.

Yep! No way I'm able to torque to 450#, or loosen lug-nuts torqued to that amount, let alone lift a tire N rim that weighs 200#.
