Diesel Fuel in South Dakota?

I am looking for truck stops about midway between Sioux Falls and Rapid City on I-90.

Well looking on Google maps. On the east half of that stretch there is a truck stop about every 15 miles, on the west half about every 25 to 30 miles. Pilots, Loves. Etc. Good luck

There are numerous T/S's along the I-90, I wouldn't sweat it.

Actually, Pierre is 35 miles north of I90. There is a small truck stop just north of I90 on Rt 83 at Vivian.

Got a smart phone? Download the Trucker Path app., it's free, and will only route you on road safe for big rigs. The options allow you to display truck stops, rest areas,WalMarts, etc along your route.

You don’t need to be worried; there are lots of truck stops along that route. Just pick your favorite brand and look at their website. Now if you needed gasoline for a big rig the choices are fewer but they still exist. We always pull right in with the trucks. 40’ plus Grand Cherokee toad.

Your're an RV Trip Wizard Ambassador. Doesn't that show fuel stops also?

It does, but it only shows one of the main truck stops companies which is a Pilot at Murdo which is a little to far. The TSD EFS app also shows only the Pilot at Murdo. I guess I have gotten too dependent on these two for my fuel stops. I did find a few spots using the Truckers Path app.

I have a Garmin RV GPS 785 with traffic. As far as this model, the GPS list fuel stations along the way. You can in the app pick diesel fuel only and this will list diesel fuel stations. This along with the "Next Exit" is all I need to find fuel stations for my needs. When pulling my trailer I am 55' long and 13'.6" tall so, I need to use truck plaza to fill up.

My navigator (DW) is responsible for finding the stations to fill up at. She will check the mileage to empty on the overhead display in the truck at around 150 miles to empty and she will start looking for a station down the road that fits our needs.

I ended up stopping at the Pilot in Murdo, SD. I wished I did not. There price was $2.499 where other truck stops were ranged from $1.97 to $2.29.
